10 new Miami towers that will be rising vertically in 2020

Next year is likely to be good for construction in Miami with a new flock of construction cranes now arriving to build the city’s next generation of skyscrapers. Below is a full list of new towers expected to be under vertical construction in Miami during 2020. All of the projects listed are within the downtown Miami/Brickell area:

Okan Tower (70 stories, 902 feet)

Permitting is underway, with groundbreaking expected in the first three months of 2020. Okan is planned to become the tallest in Miami when complete, with hotel, residential and office space.

Aston Martin Residences (69 stories, 816 feet)

Vertical construction has commenced, and the project is already several stories up with two tower cranes installed.

830 Brickell (50 stories, 734 feet)

Foundation work got underway early last year, and a $300 million construction loan has been secured. The project will become the second tallest office tower in Miami and its most modern.

Missoni Baia (57 stories, around 649 feet above sea level)

Vertical construction is already underway on this Edgewater residential condo tower, with tower cranes and construction financing in place.

Una Residences (46 stories, 613 feet)

Preliminary site work is underway on the project.

Natiivo (51 Stories, 588 feet)

Sales and approvals are now underway on the 604-unit project, a mix of hotel and condo-hotel. The developers have said they intend to break ground in early 2020.

Society Biscayne (49 stories, 573 feet)

Formerly known as 400 Biscayne, it will be a follow up to the X Miami building a block away and include 646 apartments. Tower cranes are now in place following a June 2019 groundbreaking.

Legacy Miami Worldcenter (50 stories)

The developer of this condo-hotel project has said to expect a mid-2020 groundbreaking

Luma Miami Worldcenter (49 stories, 494 feet)

The developer says this will be the “highest end” apartment tower in Miami. Vertical construction now underway following an August 2019 foundation pour.

Downtown 5th (Twin 50 story towers, 495 feet)

Foundation work is now underway on what will become the CBD’s biggest project ever by unit count with 1,042 apartments.
